Social Justice
USALSA is pleased to announce that the 2015/2016 Committee has chosen its social justice partner, which we will support for the duration of our term.
We will be donating all proceeds from Welcome Back events as well as five percent of all profits raised from our social events for the entirety of our term to Junction & Women's Housing, Junction & Women’s Housing has an established reputation for going above and beyond to support women who have experienced domestic violence. We will also be encouraging our students to donate their time to Community Legal Services, such as the Roma Mitchell Community Legal Centre, in particular its Human Rights Volunteer Service. Junction & Women's Housing
Roma Mitchell Human Rights Volunteer Service
The Roma Mitchell Community Legal Service, Norwood SA, is a non-profit organisation which provides free legal services to the community. Staffed by volunteers, the RMHRVS works on several community based and human rights projects, such as Reconciliation projects; and Pro-active involvement in the local promotion of Human Rights & Aboriginal Reconciliation - by working together in unison with Indigenous people to assist co-ordination of access to community based legal and related services.
